La Colonia Golf Resort is only five miles from the international airport at Puerto Plata, so has direct and one-stop links from all the major cities in North America and Europe. Villas in phase one are being offered at discounted prices of 25% - luxuriously finished villas are priced between $1600 - $2000 per meter of finished and furnished construction - one tenth of the Caribbean reference set of resorts we are benchmarking our villas and facilities against.
Because of the low labour costs, land prices and construction costs in this part of the Caribbean we can create high spec detached villas by the golf course with stunning views with sale prices between $450k and $750k. Luxury 2-bed or 3-bed 215 square metre villas with fantastic mountain views can be purchased for $335k, with a $100k deposit. This is a significantly superior specification and position to anywhere else we have researched in similar islands close to the US and within direct reach of Europe. The 'La Colonia' resort will have the first phase of a distinctive golf resort fully operational by early/mid 2009.
La Colonia will offer a world class hotel/leisure complex, 1000 luxury golf villas and 200 apartments in an eco-friendly community.
Each villa will benefit from having full legal title to its land, which is not normally possible for villa developments in many parts of the Caribbean.
